This morning, the full Board of Commissioners had a scheduled Special Meeting at 9 a.m. to interview the one remaining finalist, Colonel Michael Tremblay.
During the Approval of the Agenda, I made a motion to add a discussion item regarding the Administrator Search prior to the interview and another discussion item regarding the search for later in the morning. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Zylstra and the motion passed with full support 11-0.

I personally advocated for having the Board pause the one scheduled interview and that we should open the process back up and interview others together all on one day. It would provide the most fair process for all and have the least amount of hurdles to work through.
I appreciated hearing other commissioners thoughts as well.
If I were to have one complaint or pushback, it would be that Mitch with our hired recruiting firm, Double Haul, didn’t hold strong to what he first told the Board was the wisest thing to do in our circumstance, which was to delay this interview. It seemed like he catered to Board leadership and as such, the decision was made to carry on with our interview.
