
While our Interim Administrator, Fiscal Director and staff and county-wide Department Heads have been diligently working on a proposed county-wide budget over the past months, over the next several weeks, the Board of Commissioners will review and discuss the Budget, ask questions, and potentially make some modifications. Additionally the Public will be able to weigh in.
Our first meeting took place on Tuesday, May 5 and more discussion will take place this coming Tuesday, May 12 during the Planning and Policy Committee (for the Capital Improvement Plan) and the Finance and Administration Committee (Fiscal Year 2026 Budget).
The Remaining Budget Timeline:
August 5 – Proposed Budget and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Presented to Finance & Administration Committee
August 5-19 – Board of Commissioner’s Work sessions as Needed to Review Budget
August 26 – Board of Commissioners approve 2026 CIP at 9 a.m.
September 2 – Public Hearing at 9 a.m.
September 9 – Finance Committee to approve and forward 2026 Budget to Board of Commissioners
September 23 – Budget Adoption
October 1 – Start of New Fiscal Year
