UPDATE regarding the process as it relates to Community Mental Health’s (CMH) funding risks and the potential conversion of our CMH from a County Department to an Independent Authority:

While a divided vote (6-4), I was grateful that today the Board of Commissioners voted against the preliminary scheduling of three Public Hearings. It is important for the Administrator to first present to the Board a finished study, a full legal analysis and cost-benefit review as was tasked at the November 21 meeting.

I remain encouraged that protecting vulnerable residents, supporting dedicated employees, and safeguarding taxpayer dollars remains a high county priority.
