The Turning Point USA memorial for Charlie Kirk at Grand Valley State University was a beautiful evening. They needed to move it to a larger room and still reached capacity and had live streaming available nearby.
It was an honor to hear from TPUSA leaders, Fr Calvin Robinson, Ottawa County Commissioners, and several others.
As I spoke to those present, I saw so many beautiful young people grieving yet stirred to action by first showing up and being in community together. Light drives out darkness and Charlie’s light -due to Christ residing in him, has inspired many young people to not hide their own lights.
Hebrews 11:4 speaks of Abel who lived by faith and was murdered. The same can be said of Charlie: “And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.”
As Joe Moss for Ottawa County Commissioner shared on his page, a common theme of the evening was: Be strong and courageous, use your faith in the public square, make moral claims, and seek the welfare of your city/nation.
Grateful.
