More evidence of support that the timing of the projected closure of the JH Campbell Plant will be detrimental to families and our economy in Ottawa County and others in Michigan.
I appreciate the letter initiated by State Representative Luke Meerman and signed by other elected officials who understand the importance of reliable energy.
I again call upon my fellow Ottawa County Board of Commissioners to come back to the table for action we can and must take here locally.
The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners, pursuant to Article VII, Section 15 of the Constitution of the State of Michigan, 1964, as amended, has the authority to “enter or to intervene in any action or certificate proceeding involving the services, charges or rates of any privately owned public utility furnishing services or commodities to rate payers within the County”.
We must do all we can to stand in the gap. The future consequences of not acting may indeed be detrimental to the citizens of Ottawa County.
